Equipment:
Korg Trinity Rack (TR-R) - Korg Trinity is a commercially successful synthesizer music workstation released by Korg in 1996. It was also the first workstation to offer modular expansion for not only sounds, but also studio-grade feature such as SCSI, ADAT, various sound engine processors, audio recording capability, and more. It was considered one of the most comprehensive music workstations, in term of features, at the time. It is affectionately referred to as the silver beast by many of its owners. Ex-Dream Theater keyboardist Derek Sherinian in collaboration with KORG sound designer Jack Hotop created Sherinian's signature guitaristic lead sound on the Trinity in 1996. (source - Wikipedia)
Yamaha Motif ES Rack - All Motif ES synthesizers feature a wide selection of high-quality sounds, and use a sample-based substractive synthesis engine. The Motif ES6, ES7 and ES8 feature 16 track sequencers that can use MIDI and sample tracks, and 512MB of sample memory can be fitted for completely new sounds. Physical modelling, virtual analogue synthesis, FM synthesis plus a variety of additional sample sets can be installed with Yamaha's Moduler Plugin Synthesis System.
The ES models features several key improvements over the original Motifs: twice the polyphony with faster envelopes, a massive DSP effects engine (up to 8 tracks in sequencer mode can use independent dual insert effects), USB mass storage support, 8x sample RAM expansion (up to 512 mb via twin DIMM modules), vastly improved acoustic piano sound, twice the storage amount for user sounds, among other enhancements.
